YANKTON, SD – June 16, 2017 – Mount Marty College is pleased to announce the athletic signing of Coral Cleveland of Presho, SD, to the women's golf program.

Cleveland has participated in the past four state golf tournaments as a member of the Lyman County golf team.  Her freshman and sophomore seasons the entire team qualified for state, and she qualified as an individual during her junior and senior years.  She was named the Most Improved Golfer as a freshman, and then was named Most Valuable Golfer her sophomore through senior seasons.  She placed 5th as a sophomore and 3rd as a senior at her conference golf meet as well.  Off the course Coral has also been very successful as she is a member of the National Honor Society and was awarded multiple Student of the Month awards.

"We are excited to have Coral join our golf program and continue her academic and athletic careers here at Mount Marty" said Head Women's Golf Coach Todd James Schlimgen.  "She enjoys working on her golf game during the off season and we think she will continue to improve every year due to her work ethic and dedication.  The fact that she was able to have the academic and athletic successes she has had is very impressive, and shows that she has the maturity and time management skills to be a great asset to both our golf program and the Mount Marty community.  We look forward to working with her over the next four seasons."

Cleveland will be a nursing major at Mount Marty. She is the daughter of Kris and Ron Cleveland of Presho, SD, and she will be receiving an Academic Excellence Scholarship in addition to her golf award.
