YANKTON, SD – June 16, 2017 – Mount Marty College is pleased to announce the commitment of Devin Bell. Bell graduated this spring with an associate degree from College of Siskiyous and is set to attend Mount Marty this fall and participate in the baseball program for the Lancers. Bell is from Tracy, California and is a graduate of Merrill F. West High School.

Bell is a 6'4" outfielder, first base, designated hitter, who was a two year starter for College of Siskiyous and head coach Nick Thielman.  This past spring Bell was named 2nd Team All-Golden Valley Conference and College of Siskiyous Scholar-Athlete for his efforts.  Bell finished the season with a .279 batting average with 38 hits, 17 runs, 16 runs batted in, with 1 home run.  During the 2016 season, Bell posted a .278 batting average with 37 hits, 21 runs batted in, 11 runs, and 6 doubles.  In 269 junior college at-bats, Bell only struck out 30 times.

Mount Marty College head baseball coach, Andy Bernatow, is happy to announce the commitment of Devin Bell to the Lancer Baseball program. "Assistant Coach Josh Teichroew did a terrific job with his assistance in bringing in a true talent in Devin Bell.  Bell has the ability to make an immediate impact both offensively and defensively for the Lancers. He has the potential to be a middle of the order hitter for us."

Bell, will major in Business. He is the recipient of a Mount Marty College Merit Scholarship for his academic achievement, MMC Grant and a baseball scholarship.
